What A Fat Loss Day Is Like

Dates portioned into containers for a week of meal prep

A fat loss day is easy to describe once. Repeating it five days a week without it falling apart by Wednesday is the actual problem, and that's a meal-prep problem more than a diet problem.

Sunday is when the week gets decided. Chicken breast and rice get cooked in bulk and split into containers — five lunches, portioned once instead of guessed at daily. The part people usually skip is prepping the snacks the same way. A batch of a dozen kurma, split into small containers of three or four each, sits next to the lunch containers in the fridge. That one step removes the decision that normally wrecks a fat loss week: standing in front of the pantry at 4pm deciding what to eat.

On an actual weekday, breakfast is quick — eggs, or overnight oats made the night before. The pre-portioned container of dates comes out around 11am, before the hunger gets sharp enough to reach for whatever's closest, which at most desks is biscuits or leftover raya cookies from three months ago.

Lunch is the prepped container, reheated, eaten without adding extra rice on top of what's already measured out. Dinner is smaller — this is usually the meal people cook fresh, since it's the one meal of the day not sitting in a container.

The reason buying in bulk matters here isn't just cost. A week of consistent snacking needs a consistent supply, and running out of dates by Thursday is exactly the kind of gap that gets filled with something worse. Buying dates fruit in a size meant for a full month, through a dates wholesaler in Malaysia rather than a small retail pack, keeps the Sunday prep session from turning into a Wednesday grocery run. There's more on batching snacks like this under healthy food.
