Every one of the nine Medjool listings on the price list behind this guide showed two figures: a regular price and a lower current price. The list belongs to one Malaysian date wholesaler and was checked in October 2026. If you are researching Harga Kurma Medjool in Malaysia, the gap between those two figures is worth reading carefully, because the listing with the biggest markdown is not always the one with the lowest price per kilo.
The date behind the numbers
Medjool originated in Morocco. It is a large, very soft date with a rich caramel taste, and all nine listings on the October list are labelled Palestine. They carry four grade names: Large, Jumbo, Premium Jumbo and Super Jumbo. Those names are the importer's own size sorting, not an international standard, so they are labels to compare within one list rather than across sellers.

Regular and current price, listing by listing
| Grade name and pack | Regular (RM) | Current (RM) | RM off | % off | Current RM per kg | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium Jumbo, 5kg pack | 400 | 280 | 120 | 30.0 | 56.00 | In stock |
| Super Jumbo, 5kg pack | 450 | 315 | 135 | 30.0 | 63.00 | In stock |
| Jumbo, 900g box | 90 | 70 | 20 | 22.2 | 77.78 | In stock |
| Jumbo, 8 × 900g packets (7.2kg) | 570 | 448 | 122 | 21.4 | 62.22 | In stock |
| Jumbo, 12 × 500g packets (6kg) | 450 | 355 | 95 | 21.1 | 59.17 | In stock |
| Large, 8 × 1kg packets (8kg) | 580 | 394 | 186 | 32.1 | 49.25 | Out of stock |
| Jumbo, 12 × 500g packets (6kg) | 370 | 290 | 80 | 21.6 | 48.33 | Out of stock |
| Large, 24 × 250g packets (6kg) | 420 | 355 | 65 | 15.5 | 59.17 | Out of stock |
| Large, 5kg pack | 280 | 250 | 30 | 10.7 | 50.00 | Out of stock |
Prices are one Malaysian date wholesaler's, checked in October 2026. The percentage is the ringgit cut divided by the regular price.
What the in-stock lines show
Five listings were in stock. The two 5kg packs had the deepest cuts among them, 30% each: RM120 off the Premium Jumbo pack and RM135 off the Super Jumbo pack. The three Jumbo listings sat close together, between 21.1% and 22.2% off.
In ringgit, the biggest in-stock cut was RM135 on the Super Jumbo 5kg pack. The smallest was RM20 on the 900g box, which is also the only Medjool listing under 5kg and the dearest per kilo at RM77.78.
Where a bigger cut does not mean a lower price per kilo
Two in-stock listings share a regular price of RM450: the Super Jumbo 5kg pack and the Jumbo listing of twelve 500g packets. After the markdown they part ways, RM315 against RM355. The Super Jumbo pack has the bigger cut, RM135 against RM95. Per kilo the order flips, because the packets add up to 6kg rather than 5kg: RM59.17 for the Jumbo packets against RM63 for the Super Jumbo pack.
The out-of-stock lines make the same point from the other side. The largest cut on the whole list, 32.1% (RM186), was on the Large listing of eight 1kg packets, and it was out of stock. The smallest, 10.7% on the Large 5kg pack, was out of stock too. A large percentage off tells you about the old price, not about what you can buy today.

Using the two prices sensibly
Treat the current price as the number to compare, and turn it into ringgit per kilo before you put two listings side by side. The regular price is useful for one thing, seeing how big the markdown is, and that only matters once the per-kilo figure already suits you.
Then check stock and timing. Four of the nine listings were out of stock in October 2026, and demand for dates in Malaysia peaks before and during Ramadan, with further peaks around Hari Raya, weddings and kenduri. A price list checked months earlier is a starting point, not a quote.
